Biography

My research focuses on coastal ecosystems and the protection services they provide to counter the effects of climate change. My expertise is in the interactions between coastal ecosystems, hydrodynamics and their environmental context. I conduct interdisciplinary research by successfully collaborating across diverse disciplines, including engineering, geography, conservation and ecology. I use a combination of approaches including field data collection, laboratory experiments, synthesis and modelling. My doctoral research was funded by the competitive Australian Postgraduate Award and several scholarships. I am a skilled science communicator and have won several awards for my presentations and have been invited to present my research.
